Furthermore, wary and cunning animals are likely to be terse and evasive, while the more stupid ones make inane comments. If an animal is friendly toward you, it may do some favor or service for you.

Augment:
This power may be augmented in one or more of the following ways.

• If you spend 2 additional power points this power can speak with intelligent animals, magical/psionic animals, and phrenic animals instead of a normal animal. You can also speak to any of these creatures that naturally speaks but with whom you do not share a common language.
• If you spend 2 additional power points you can talk to a plant instead of a normal animal. This augment doesn’t make a plant any more friendly or cooperative than normal. Furthermore, wary and cunning plants are likely to be terse and evasive, while the more stupid ones may make inane comments. If a plant is friendly toward you, it may do some favor or service for you. Plants spoken to in this way have their experiences and observations limited to the immediate area around which they are growing.
• If you spend 4 additional power points you can talk to a plant creature instead of a normal animal. This augment doesn’t make plant creatures any more friendly or cooperative than normal. Furthermore, wary and cunning plant creatures are likely to be terse and evasive, while the more stupid ones may make inane comments. If a plant creature is friendly toward you, it may do some favor or service for you.
